“CDAC is a cross-cluster service working to enable humanitarian
operations to get information to those populations affected by the
January 12 2010 earthquake and its aftermath (including issues
such as cholera) and to channel their voices back to the providers
of assistance working with local media and non-mass-media
communications.
Communication Strategies:
CDAC uses various information and communication methods in an
effort to act as a source of expertise and advice, a community of
practice, and an advocacy platform that aims at ensuring that the
humanitarian sector mainstreams CDAC, and that local media play
a role in maximising aid effectiveness, accountability, and transparency
to affected communities. The CDAC network in Haiti includes experts
in radio, mass media, SMS (text messaging), web based and
non-mass-media communications, public information officers, and
journalists, both local and international.”

While a picture is worth one thousand words, it has been said,
one can click on pictures found in Google Images searches,
then one can see the whole page with an additional click of
“visit page” that the picture is found on and that page may and
often does have very many important words about the topic the
picture represents or is related to.
